My name is Jeff, and I like to make things.

I paint.  I write.  I build.  These are the things I have done since Kindergarten--I just do them differently now.  My approach, however, is virtually the same: I see something in my mind's eye or feel something, then I look around for things to help me get it down in the real world.  Sometimes, that just means pen and paper.  Sometimes I reach for acrylic paint and a canvas.  Sometimes I need wood.  Or copper.  Or a spool of rusted wire.  More and more, my pieces are hopeful; even optimistic--a big change from the cynical black and white portraits I did as a younger man.  I almost exclusively use warm hues lately.  I use a lot of soft and flowing lines to make the pictures move.  I have two daughters, eight and five, so it isn't a surprise to see their spirits in so much of my work.  A woman at an art show once said that my work made her nostalgic for something she had never experienced.  That made me happy.  Not as happy as if she had said it after she bought something, but still...

I am still working on this website...

Soon, I will have ALL of my work showing here (I've only got a sampling at this point), and will take Paypal or Visa or something, but I'm still learning.  Please have patience for my tech ignorance.
